The End of the Little Cat Blog on Blogger

As I attempt to post a blog about my daughter's first birthday it becomes more and more apparent to me that this website isn't capable of allowing me to do so efficiently and without frustration. Therefore I've given up on The Little Cat Blog on Blogger.com.

When I dread making posts, it just isn't worth it.

Here is a link to the new blog on wordpress.com.

So long, Blogger. You suck.

Swim Class

Last week the Little Olive attended her first swimming class. We were worried she would be all that excited about it because she wasn't a big fan of her bath as of late. She used to love the bath, but something happened (not sure what) and it became an unhappy time for the Little Olive.

Her Grandfather had a great idea, though. He bought her a pool to swim in at his house. Just a little pool, but it did the trick! She was no longer afraid of the water!

He cured her of her bath/water fear. So, there were nothing but smiles at swimming class!

She was even willing to fall into the water from the ledge and into her mother's arms. She had a blast!

Every Tuesday and Thursday are happy days for the Little Olive thanks to Grandpa. Swimming lessons are fun!

Whew!

The National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA

Two Mondays ago our nice little family went to the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. It was Memorial Day, so it was a perfect time to go. It wasn't crowded at all!

Above is a picture of the Little Olive and her mother outside of the Aviary.

Below is a picture of a feeding room. There were bleachers set up so the visitors can sit down. The lady in charge hands the people meal worms to hold in the air and the birds swoop down and take it from them. We didn't do it, but the birds came quite close to us.

Below is a bird friend we made

This is a parrot. There was also a red one that looked very similar. He didn't seem to want his picture taken, though.

Here's a cute little owl. He was just a baby.

I think he was giving me the stink eye.

     Speaking of stink eye...

Here's my wife looking at the penguins through the observation tubes set up in the middle of the penguin display. It seems this one didn't want to look her in the eye. He was embarrassed.

These guys knew it was time to eat. We got to watch this lady feed them sardines.

It was really cool to see them eat.

 Toucan Sam????

Below is a Sea Eagle. He was HUGE. The picture does him no justice.

Below is a Bald Eagle. This guy was hiding so it was difficult to get a good picture of him. I was kinda disappointed because he was the main attraction and we didn't get a good look at him.

The Little Olive had a blast. She slept for more than 2 hours on the way home.

I recommend the National Aviary. It's a good deal and it was very interesting to see these wild birds.

    Two thumbs up.
